Paper Clutch Handbag

Here is the custom made birthday card i made for Melissa. She loves handbags so i thought i'd make a clutch handbag out of paper which will open to reveal birthday wishes and notes inside, signed by all her friends. Its just folded paper block laminated with gold textured wrapping paper. The inside i cut and pasted printed card which i got from the craft shop.... Took me a few attempts and ideas to figure out how to keep the bag closed. in the end i used leftovers to make a button.

The bag (ok ok its a glorified box).......

Release the button....

.... and open.... I glued the card inside after everyone had signed it.

The Secret Paper Project

For almost a year i toyed at the idea of making a figurine for my good friend Donovan. He has always remembered my birthday and takes great trouble to get me something really nice... every year..... i on the other hand am a doing lah (not on purpose of cos) ..... so last year (Sept 06) i decided to make him something i saw over on the net. It was a figurine of the witchking riding a fell beast from the Lord of the Rings movies....

I researched for almost a year..... ofcos...most of the time i did alot of procrastinating lah ... then on the 1st day of September 2007 i started on the project...... what i thought wld take a few days to make, (his birthday was on the 15th of Sept) turned out to be a hell of a task ....of cos there were weeks where i didnt work on it at all.....but all-in it took me almost 4 months to finish it....

THe idea was to use any kind of material available to me for as minimal cost just for the heck of it.....So i used newspaper, MAsking tape, bits of wire, lots and lots of tissue paper, one small mecha figurine, Aluminium foil, a piece of nylon string and an egg crate. Apart from the mecha warrior, the most i spent on this secret project was poster paint and lots of PVA glue..... The hardest part of this project was to keep it a secret for so many months........... but i actually had fun making the figurine and it turned out well.... but me as usual kept trying to make it better, not satisfied with the outcome....so it took alot of effort to stop and except how it looked, otherwise it would have taken a few more months ...

Road Tax Disc Replacement

I have noticed many cars which still have their old road tax sticker stuck to their windscreen. Some are half way torn. Some have a collection of these stickers in a row from top to bottom and even around their windscreen like a frame. Well...for what ever reason it may be... i would like to show you how to remove and replace it.

(Use a plastic ruler to start the peel, ...............................................then peel slowly)

(Clean the area with hand soap, wipe with water and let dry, then place the new disc from one corner)

Finally use the plastic ruler to guide the peel straight and smoothly and you're all done..... Its that simple so stop leaving your old road tax on your windscreen already.....

How to make Demon Horns in 2 hours

STEP 1:- Cut out a piece of card board in the desired shape to make a stencil.

STEP 2 :- Draw 2 layouts using stencil on a piece of Red Cloth. In this case i used the sleeve of an old red shirt.
STEP 3 :- Leave at lease 5mm extra when cutting out the two pieces of cloth. Also make sure to leave about 15mm of extra at the base of one of the pieces of cloth.

STEP4 :- Since I did not have a sewing needle, i stapled the two pieces of cloth together following the shape of the horns. Remember the extra 15mm of cloth, fold it at the base as you staple it as seen in the picture with the coin. Please note that sewing is much easier then stapling and it also takes a lot of time and effort to do. Repeat Steps 1 to 4 to complete a set of horns.

STEP 5 :- Turn the stapled pieces of cloth inside out. Again, please note that this takes more effort when you staple. So by all means sew it together yah!
STEP 6 :- Stuff it with cotton till you are satisfied with its 'thickness'. Remember the 15mm of extra cloth at the base which we turned into a pocket'. You can use this bit to cover the mouth of the horn so to keep the cotton contain in the horn.
STEP 7 :- Fasten in on a piece of wire or hairband or anything else you think that might work, and hey presto' you have instant Devil's Horns' (ok maybe not so instant lah)

END - I will not be liable for any injury or damage caused from any person or party repeating any or all steps listed in this post.
