It was new years day and I was thinking @#$$%^ what the hell am I doing sprawled flat on the carpet right in front of Cinema Hall 10, GSC Mid Valley. It was the middle of the day on the 1st of Jan 09. I didn’t have a party hat on…. I didn’t have those whistle thingy blower things with the rolled paper stuck to it… I didn’t have a drink in my hand or smelled of stale beer……
The only thing I know was that it was very very dark…sprawled on a reasonably comfy carpet….. my ankle hurt… so was my arm which broke my fall……
Wish I had a drink right now…. Maybe even a party hat…….. its getting brighter as the movie starts…… I can not describe the sound of 200 or more cinema patron’s expression of surprise and exclamation…..
Now I really want that drink…..
My friends soon realized that I had fallen and helped me on up…. I realized that I could not stand but I was very sure that it was only because of the shock of the fall…. So I limped out… errrrr… more like hopped out with my friends in tow….
Did a quick check to see if anything was broken, fractured or twisted…. Apart from an apparent mild sprain I was ok…. Lifted my head high and tried to mask my limp… we all headed back into the cinema to watch ‘Ip Man’
…. Before the kungfu movie can start you wanted to do a little kungfu izzit???.......... Shut up!! Alex!!!...
Cant really rate this movie but I will say that I did enjoy it. And if you love kungfu movies… this one shld be on top of your ‘To Watch’ list….
HAPPY 2009!!!!!!! May you fall more gracefully than I did!!!!!!!....

Why sooo SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!
i must say Hellboy wasnt as good as i had hoped it to be... it did have its moments...but it just sizzled off without amounting to much... 6/10 for me because the story was interesting even though it didnt play out as good as it sould have..
Next up was Dark Knight...... i was blown away from the start till the end... Every single aspect of this movie was amazing... everything.... this movie amazingly manage to stuff as much charactor and storyline into it beautifully.. which put other movies like Spiderman 3 and X-men 3 to shame...And god, they pitted Joker and Batman together on all levels of seriousness ... and they did it well.... i was held to my seat listening to every word.... it was intense.... even the music score was intense...... 10/10
....if there was one thing i wanted to complain, it would be batman's love interest.... i dont think Gyllanhaal did any better then Kathy Homes... oh well thats ok ...since she was just a pawn in the complicated web triangle of Batman, Two Face and of cos Joker... Arrhhhggg!! this movie was so good i watched it twice.... I might even go again.
Hancock was very interesting.... and i must say intriging .....but after coming out of the cinema i wasnt too impressed with it.... mayb i like it because i had low expectations of it an just sat and watched it without thinking about it too much... Well i can tell you one thing... its somewhat an original and fresh take on a new superhero.... 6/10 ...
My wife and i went an watched Sex in the City..... and i was fairly surprised at its very down to earth storyline... i guess thats why so many women out there can relate to the story and charactors, and they woul keep them dear to their hearts. Some movies are better of watched on DVD even if it is good, but I feel SC was still worth the 22 bucks ticket price we paid total.... it was differnately a very good follow up on the hit series... I dont rate girlie movies but if i did...this would get a 6.5/10
yes yes... i know i owe you guys more then a movie review.... bah!! :P

Looks like plastic

Even when the trailer started showing i was very very suspicious about Indy 4. After what George did to Star Wars 1, 2 & 3 i was thinking the worst but since Steven Spielberg was also on board i though maybe just maybe George cant ruin it.... i was wrong... its worst then i thought....... from scene to scene it was just getting worst and worst..... ok stop reading if you havent watched it yet.... I was so worried about George Lucas that i didnt see it coming..... Spielberg had infused his obsession with aliens into this movie.... why... why whyyyy!!!..lah!!
The characters were forgettable and seemed like a waste of talent, while the reuse of familiar script from past Indy movies were just lost in this pointless movie..... and didnt those crytal sculls look more like plastic......... its a very sad 3/10...... or shall i give it 1/10 just for pissing me off.....
They better not piss me off again because..... you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!!!........ well i hope im wearing my stretchy pants if that happens..... hmmm ok ok lets start with Hulk 2.... never liked the first one so as usual i thought the worst this time around... but Edward Norton was taking the lead this time and i like his work... actually he did do a good job with Hulk 2 and it was green for go from the get-go... non stop action back to back and i was like woah.....cool!! then half way thru the movie i think it lost steam.... and i still think they didnt show HULK's full potential as the most unstoppable force in the MARVEL universe.... oh well.... i guess they are just saving it for next time....i hope......and as like Ironman... this movie hints of an Avengers spin off. The Incredible HULK is 6/10 for me...........
ok before you go saying im a closet girly movie watcher'.... let me just say i went out with my wife for a day of shopping, dinner and a movie. Wife wanted to watch the movie because of Patrick 'McDreamy' Demsey...... to be honest i dont see him as McDreamy.... i see him as 'Jimbo', that dude that let that Ibola infected monkey go free in the movie Outbreak...... Anyway i went to go and check out Michelle Monaghan .... but for some reason she looked a little strange... dont know how to explain.... just weird looking....... well if you're waiting for a rating... all i can say is My Best Friends Wedding was better...... No! im not a closet girly movie watcher'
I dont know why i bother watching his movies lah.... i hated the first one and watchin it a second time only turned me into the HULK.... so why ...why did i go watch National Treasure 2......0/10 for all his movies from now on....nuff said....

Ironman's Italian Connection in Germany
Went to watch Ironman last saturday at the Curve. We only managed to get tickets for the late night show so we decided to go have dinner at the German Bierhous.... naturally we got Paulana beer (oh, make sure you ask for the drinks menu... they seem to have more then whats listed on the main menu) but ...well, as usual i cldnt decide on what to eat... and i wasnt too keen on anything on the menu... interestingly they had two or three Italian dishes too.... So i ordered the Cabonara .... strange but true... and i must say it was the best Cabonara pasta i have eaten... ... then i tried a little bit of everyone's dishes and i wasnt too impress though......
well after our expensive dinner it was onward to watch Ironman... heard alot of good things about the movie and i must say they were all justified..... it was very well done... beautifully played and the under rated Robert Downey Jr, was perfect as Tony Stark.... Hope you all waited for the bit after the credits... its just a taste of whats to come... but Samuel L Jackson... hmmm lately his been in sucky rolls and lame movies.....well we just need to wait and see. Hey u know what...., in the middle of the movie i hope you all got the hint of War Machine... but i guess that was more for comic fans... google it if you want... IRONMAN 9/10

Lucky to get some Sunshine on the 3:10 to Yuma
At last a good western... i havent seen a good western since Tomstone and Unforgiven ... 3:10 to Yuma was interesting and it kept me on my toes but glued to my seat. The cast, all of them...were excellent in their roles... 7.5/10 for me... It was well made
Talking about well made... Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind was well made.... I felt that The Idea of the movie (Story) was very well filmed... simple yet complexed... just like life.... and luck has nothing to do about it... 7/10
You know, i really loved the new James Bond movie Casino Royal ... it was an excellent movie actually... but there was one thing i didnt like about it and it is how they filmed the main poker game in the movie... i didnt have a sense of the game... of cos u could say the game was not the main focus.... hmmm but i think it shld have been a little bit more meaningful .... There are good movies which show poker in its best form... one of the best was Maverick ... but last year i did watch Lucky You, a poker movie with a romantic twist... it was pretty much formula filming but bit different.... good for a Saturday afternoon tv viewing... but somewhere in the middle it was a abit of a tug of war between romantic movie and poker rookie coming of age movie.... but good anyway 5.5/10END

Creatures from THE MIST...... Im a jumppin' out'er here...
What the hell is eating my curry leaf this time..!!!!!!!!!!!!????????? What ever it was its now dead... after a healthy dose of bug spray......... really weird creatures which could just have been conjured up by Steven King for his latest movie adaptation of his horror thriller novel ...The Mist......

Started off interesting enough but for some reason the first creature FX looked so cheap... compared to the the rest of the movie..... Well im not going to waste anymore of your time like how this movie did... cos boy was it a waste of 2 hours of my life...... 3/10 .... reminded me of another stupid steven king movie...
DreamCatcher......
Talking about Mist.... whats with this weather lah... its hazy.... but it rains almost everyday.... chily at times ...hot like hell other times....... Wish i cld "jump" to Siberia or something....

Yeah.... how cool would that be.... just me and my camera... jumping around the world..... taking sunsets of the same day in every major city in the world........ cooooool!..... too bad the movie was crap.... Hayden what's his face was showing me just why i hated him in Star Wars.... (Oh God... not a another flashback.... no...no... NOOOO!!! it never happened... no.... oh please no...... Star Wars 1, 2 and 3... never happened.... no it never happened!!!!!!!!) and what the hell was Samuel L Jackson doing there.... repeating some lame one liner over and over "Only GOD should have this power" or some thing similar............ 3/10 and it cant jump any higher.....

Beowulf
The tale of Beowulf has been told in so many ways much like Homer’s Iliad… … and so far I have seen three…
The first one I watched was a C grade Christopher Lambert movie called Beowulf. It was so cheesy and bad with its cheesy graphics and even cheesier soundtrack…… … and like cheese it was full of plot holes…… the only thing good about this movie was the introduction of Rhona Mitra…….. even with Rhona’s ‘offerings’ and Christopher Lambert’s silver hair… I give it a 2/10…and with that im being generous …..what’s with the science fiction twists lah? Sheeshkebabs!
Beowulf & Grendel caught me by surprise… I didn’t know much about it until I wanted to know more about Gerard Butler after his performance in the movie 300…… it was noted that he did well in this movie too… so I went and got it. Beowulf & Grendel was filmed very well and although it’s a myth and was made famous in a poem, it was however portrayed very realistically. Somehow the grammar in that sentence doesn’t feel right….. anyway I would recommend this movie with a 7/10…. But mind you it can get a little dull but intriguing nonetheless.
Now we come to the latest installment of the famous poem of this infamous Norse warrior. First things first…. 3D animation has come really far… it was just stunningly superb. Its really hard to see the difference between animation and reality especially the skin tone and body motion…. But I think the animation of ‘hair’ still needs some work…
The movie captures you from the get go and it’s a wild ride from there on after but they did change the story a little bit… I call this Hollywootism. First, Beowulf does kill Grendel’s Mother but it was rumored that Grendel had an offspring. Secondly he does not inherit a Kingdom. The Movie Beowulf & Grendel followed the story more faithfully but the 3D motion capture Beowulf was more entertaining. So it gets 8/10.

Lets Kick Some Ass!!!
Hot Fuzz…. was so hilarious lah…. I was in stitches watching this movie…. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were fantastic together, but then again I liked their outing in Shaun of The Dead better…. So if you loved Shaun, you would love this movie too… Well …I was thoroughly entertained so I will give Hot Fuzz a 9/10….. by
the way Shaun of The Dead is 10/10 for me…
Wicker Man is the 3rd and last Nicholas Cage movie… in my quest to see if I really really hate him or not…… I really really hate him lah…I really do……. he has the same dopey look which makes me want to slap his face silly… Anyway this movie is a remake of a 70s classic. It was disturbingly stupid which left me with too many stupid questions like what the hell is he still doing there when he knows there’s something really strange going on in that place and he will need to get his ass off the island and bring in the big guns to nuke the place… Even the shocking ending does not make it any better….. 3/10
Dejavu had me going there…. for awhile at least…. Dejavu had me going there…. for awhile at least …. (Woah!… I just had a Dejavu moment)…… Then, somewhere half way into the movie…just as it starts to get really interesting …it crashed and burnt to the ground… with me feeling like a disappointed idiot…. It is official lah… the only time-travel movie which actual follows a proper time travel continuum, which made more sense then shoulder pads in a metallic green dress would be all three Back to The Future movies, with the Terminator series coming in second and 12 Monkeys a close third…….…. No other movie has done it better then Doc Brown and Marty McFly whizzing around in the Delorean…… …. Dejavu fails to deliver its story with conviction …….. 3.5/10 for me…. Maybe becos I expected more….hmmmm
If someone tells me, you need big boobs to be an ass kicking hot babe then I will have to tell them, No! You don’t need to have Double Ds to be an ass kicking Hot Babe!!... heck!... you don’t even need to kick any ass either, as Sabrina has shown in her post on Charlize Theron….but then again Charlize has kicked ass in Aeon Flux……. Anyway what I’m trying to say here is that Milla Jovovich is one hot ass kicking babe… as seen in all her Resident Evil movies… including the latest one, Extinction. This is a shootem up’ movie which you will enjoy if you turn your brain off…. But I must say there is a sense of Dejavu about the movie because it reminded me of so many other movies… Mad Max for most part of it……. Oh well, no points for originality… but I did enjoy the movie so it gets 6/10…
Ready to kick some ass!!!!!........

Lucky 13 the only Redeemer
I never really liked any of the Harry Potter Movies… so it would be a bit unfair to review the latest one ‘the order of the phoenix’…. I seriously think they should have made Harry Potter a really big budget TV series or something like that… Phoenix is the same as Goblet of Fire… so why even bother to watching it…….. it’s like watching Dynasty… the same thing over and over in every season…it’s kinda sad really…. I would have thought a story about a boy wizard and his wizard friends would be a lot more interesting than that……… hmmm …anyway 3/10 for me … even the CGI cldnt save this movie for me…… and pls… don’t tell me the book was better cause…this is not about the book… :P
Danny Ocean and his merry men are at it again… an elaborate scheme of thievery only an ensemble cast like this can pull of… I must say that I liked Ocean’s 12 better then 13… nevertheless its still a really cool movie,,,… fantastic script, a great cast, a definite must watch…. 13/10 for Ocean’s 13 … I enjoyed every moment of it… except for the scene with Vincent Cassel… that was such a waste of a good plot… so I guess it would be more of a 9/10 then…. “You shook Sinatra's hand. You should know better …”….
Premonition is a weird movie which should have been good… here’s an example of how a good plot just does not equate to a good movie… It’s a movie trying too hard to be original but just turns out to be shitty and similar to other movies of the same genre… I have no idea why I felt that way but I do… Movies like The Butterfly Effect come to mind…. Why go far….. didn’t Sandra Bullock just act in Lake House which had some what of a premonition like feel to it but with a more romantic theme compared to Premonition’s more darker sutured. Hmmm… well maybe for a boring Saturday afternoon then… my premonition was that it wld be a 2/10 but I was wrong… 4/10 for me.
Rush Hour 3…. If you don’t know already … I’m a big Jackie Chan fan… but why oh why did they have to make a 3rd Rush Hour… It was so bad not even Jackie’s bad acting could save it…. Wait!.. did I mean to say Jackie’s excellent fight scene’s…. well maybe… …As usual Jackie does not fail to amaze me with his kicks and splits, but its official lah… Chris Tucker is the most irritating actor I have ever seen on screen…. I just couldn’t wait for him to shut the hell up… 3/10 for a bad rush hour jam….
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was funny in parts but if not for Jessica Biel… I don’t think I would have even bothered to watch it… how could I not
miss Biel in nothing but her undies and lets not forget the cat suit with whiskers all…. it just didn’t reach the right balance of racist, homophobic, sexist chemistry as say Talladega Nights… (ok…. I never thought I’d say that out loud)….. Anyway, there where way too many similarities to the movie Boat Trip which by the way did a better job…… Amen to Roselyn Sanchez. So Chuck and Larry get 4/10 from me…..

A Room with an Ultimatum
It’s nice to see that a movie without blood, gore and dismembered bodies can actually be genuinely scary ….and disturbing even. The main character was well acted out by Cusack and I must say even the character of the maintenance guy who only had a few seconds of air time, was played well. The claustrophobic feeling and the limited set of the room was very well executed. I just love the camera angles in this movie…. very nicely done…But everything .....seemed to carry on and on and on… aimlessly… till you get bored and wish you were watching something else… it wasn’t compelling enough me to want to continue watching it… but I did… and the ending just fell flat on my face or at least that’s how I felt when it ended…. The movie should have left me with questions of wonder and surprise but instead it left me with question like… why didn’t the manager, who is played by Samuel Jackson, ask for a disclaimer from Mike Enslin (Cusack) to safe guard his job? It’s a pointless question to ask when it has nothing to do with the story..... 4.8/10 for 1408.
Well… I must say that the action and stories of espionage movies are getting more and more believable these days… gone are the days of spy movies that have more scantily clad women then a Diddy video.. and lets not even talk about the devious plots. How about those outlandish actions like say our hero… riding a tidal wave with nothing more then a parachute and a broken wing…. No more… no more I tell you…. Now we have a believable everyday man…. He could be you …he could be me…. Or he could be Bourne, ….Jason Bourne.Ultimatum takes off where Supremacy ends and it was a roller coaster ride through Jason’s quest for the truth… I only had one issue with the movie which was that the ending was a bit …errr… bland… but it was a believable ending or you could say … a logical ending….
“Do you even know why you're supposed to kill me? Look at us. Look at what they make you give”…
…. …. 8.5/10 for Bourne Ultimatum.

Fractured Stranger
I really hate it when movie makers try so hard to make a clever plot that almost always has a twist in it….. But then it turns out to be so dumb that it is seemed like they were making it up while they were filming the movie… Well at least that’s how I felt after watched the movie Fracture and Perfect Stranger.
Fracture had an interesting plot but as the story unfolded it eventually got really really predictable….. like they were running out of steam…. Sir Anthony Hopkins played his usual self… so it was terribly stale because we have seen this kind of character in all his other stereotypical made for Hopkins movies…
Basically it is about a rich engineer killing his wife and confessing the murder but then masterminded a devises plan whereby there wasn’t a single trace of evidence against him. Not even CSI could find anything… (Where’s Grissom when you need him)… Once he is set free he can not be prosecuted even if they find evidence of his crime because of the Double Jeopardy Law and blah blah technical crap…. Sounds interesting right … Oh how wrong was I to think it was….
I haven’t reviewed a movie in a long time and in fact I watched Fracture two months ago… and I cant seem to remember much about it…. But I do remember how bad it was though …….. Unfortunately….
Among the two movies, Perfect Stranger had the worst plot which I am not even going to bother explaining, but if you ever what to see a really bad actress who overacts every single scene… then by all means watch Halle Berry in this flick….. In her defense however, I must say she is Very Berry Good… babe with a capitol G… gorgeous! But Alba is still the best lah……keke… Anyway the most wasted actor in this movie was the one played by Bruce Willis… such a total waste lah… They should have just given him a gun and just let him blow the brains out of every other character… now that would have made a more interesting twist in the ending…
Perfect Stranger I will rate a 3/10 and Fracture gets just 0.5 points more because Anthony Hopkins is just so good in his ‘Hannibal the Cannibal’ kind of role.

A Die Hard Babbling Weatherman
Babel…. Yeah I finally watched Babel …. And was thoroughly disappointed with it and shocked that it was nominated for so many awards… thankfully it didn’t win anything at the Oscars except for best original score. Even that I’m not sure why it won…. Anyway….I’ve seen many movies with the “connection” theme… most are good and Babel isn’t one of them…. The movie Crash is 100 times better then Babel and I didn’t think Crash was all that good either… heck even the low budget 93 movie Twenty Bucks was better then… So far only 2 ‘connection’ themed movies have made an impact with me…. One is ‘21 Grams’ and the other is ‘The Red Violin’…. 21 Grams is 100 times better then Crash which makes it 200 times better then Babel… But my personal favourite was The Red Violin .... maybe the problem with Babel was that each story line would have been better off on its own and not connected to each other…hmmmm… … the director tries so hard to connect the stories together that it lands up just pointless……. What was the Japanese chick story all about lah… besides having her parade herself in the buff…? It wouldn’t have made any difference if the Japanese story was left out of the movie…. I minused (if there is such a word) another 0.5 points for the pointless teenage boy ‘relieving’ himself scene (by the way, the same scene in American Pie had more meaning) … so it gets a 3.5/10
I braced myself once again to watch another Nicholas Cage movie (this is 2 of 3, read about 1 of 3 HERE )… this time it was The Weatherman…. I’m sorry but I have absolutely nothing to say about this movie except that, it was a watch-able movie…… and I wish I was one of those people in the movie that got to throw all kinds of fast food at Cage… the Chocolate Milkshake was my favourite throw…. 3.75/10 for me….
Live Free or Die Hard or more commonly called Die Hard 4 was not too bad…to me the first half of the movie was pretty good… there was a good build up off characters and plot…. . but I found it a little over the top in certain parts of the show … and the second half of the movie didn’t help because it was down right bullocks……. I wish they had built the story around the relationship between McClane and his daughter as I felt she was a better character then the computer wiz kid Farrell… … and the fighter pilot that some how couldn’t even take out a huge big rig
truck with his super sophisticated fighter jet… come on lah!!… give me a break.!!! Not enough the baddy was not even convincing compared to former Die Hard baddies… oh well, …. It was a good effort anyway 5.5/10… ok lah 6/10 …no no wait…I will not give in… 5.5/10 ok lah ok lah... it was nice watch Bruce in his best all time action hero character... so 6/10 for Die Hard 4…. (Cant wait for die hard 5… after a triple by-pass surgery McClane will be even harder to kill……… Yippee Ki Yay ^$**< fish head curry%%*!!!!).
Hey, wasn’t the Hungarian F1 GP really exciting. NOT!!!!... sheeshkebab lah… I need something better to do during F1!!!…. Knitting perhaps? …

More then meets the EYE!!
Thursday,.......Boy, was this a good movie…. it surpassed all my expectations… and my expectations were high. … Although the movie did have quite a number of Michael Bay’s slow-mo scenes but it was not over done like in Armageddon and Pearl Harbour. I got so excited each time the robots transformed ….Each scene was really done well lah… love it love it…. really really loved it and I am going to try and watch it again this coming weekend.I watched it with a few friends over at the IMAX Theater in Berjaya Times Square… It was my first time there … I tell you it was worth the RM 15 ticket and the RM5 parking… even though it wasn’t on full IMAX format or even IMAX 3D…. it was still really good… the seats were comfortable and the sound was superb.
The movie was literarily MORE THEN MEETS THE EYE…….
I’m giving this movie a 10/10 ….even though there were a few questionable scenes here and there I still truly and thoroughly enjoyed this movie… every bit of it…… hhmmm…. What do you think of Megan Fox? To be honest for some reason I didn’t really like her… although she was flaming hot … I guess she’s just not my type … but hey,… she can look under my hood anytime…….Sunday, June 24, 2007
Shopahunt?!?
First of all I would like to apologize to Sabrina for not informing her that there was a treasure hunt last Saturday the 16th of Jun. In my defense let explain that I only knew about it the day before and also participation was limited to only 50 teams of 2. It was organized by some division of the malaysian tourism board or something like that…. actually I am not really bothered by the details… all I know is that it was not organized well… and in fact it wasn’t even a treasure hunt… it was called a shopahunt… yes… a shopahunt. It was organized to commemorate the start of the MALAYSIAN MEGA SALE!!!!....
Well let me just say that I spent the best of the afternoon running around like I was 21 all over Bukit Bintang. ….It’s midday Saturday… at the start of the MALAYSIAN MEGA SALE… and we’re running around in Low Yat, Sungei Wang, Lot 10 and Berjaya TimesSquare…… going through 60 treasure hunt question puzzlely things…. Oh wait!… there was 60 questions but they were not treasure hunt question puzzlely things…. Dono and I soon realized this wasn’t the normal treasure hunt that we have heard or participated before…. On our first round in Low Yat we had the task of looking for product or shop slogans in the whole mall….. and it was the same for all the other malls that we went to… …. In the end we only managed about 80 something points but the top 20 teams were 90 something points and above…..naturally we were disappointed but more so with the questions.
All we needed to do was be able to spot a product slogan …some were in posters the size of a shopping bag…. A feat only a true shopaholic woman’ who can spot a hot deal in a sales bin from an escalator away… Its no wonder why the top 10 teams were women…….. it was after all a SHOPAHUNT
Have been hooked on the series The West Wing for the past few weeks… I find the drama to be really really compelling and I am flabbergasted by the script. I’m into the second session already…
Meanwhile catching up with movies is getting harder and harder nowadays and it makes it worst when the movies are crap…… The week before last it was Pirates 3… so many unnecessary plots and scenes… uncharacteristic characters… its just so bad I don’t know where to start… even good performance by a talented assemble of actors could not save the black pearl from sinking… and almost 3 hours later we leave the theater… oh wait!... the cineplex, feeling frustrated…. 4/10 for me
This week it was Fantastic Four 2…. First I must say that I liked the first one… I thought it was really enjoyable… and judging it by the thriller I was impressed by The Silver Surfer… but I guess it was not to be… because the movie sucked …big time …and even thought I am a big Jessica Alba fan … and me thinks her great body looked really good in that blue suit……………… ………………………. Sorry, a little distracted there…. Actually she looked horrible in her second outing… stupid hairdo matched with an unflattering hair colour was horrible and what’s with that tan… actually it was the hair colour that caused her to look more tanned then usual and the blue contacts didn’t help either… …errrrr…what were was I writing about? ...oh…right… Fantastic Four 2… well it was bad with a capital Z…. 4/10 for me.
On the DVD front I managed to sample an interesting spy movie called The Good Shepherd. It was surprisingly good but beware, its very slow moving but it builds up very nicely… The only thing I did not like about the movie is Matt Damon …..he was not convincing enough to portray a covert founder of the CIA… very weak… anyway my take …6/10
I finally watched Apocalypto…. It was so well made I was like woah!!! Cool!… but I don’t know what the hype was all about making it in a long lost mayan language… … because I believe the movie’s plot is so downright simple… you could watch it with the volume down and still understand what was going on… Anyway ….. it was a refreshing take on an over used plot… 7/10 for me.
I don’t know if I have said this before but I hate Nicolas Cage full stop….. I hate that he tries so hard to be an action hero star… don’t believe me… just look at his track record as an action star… I rest my case… so guess what I went and did… I went out and bought 3 movies I haven’t watched that has Mr Bone head…. The Wicker Man, The Weather Man and the Lord of War…
So far I watched The Lord of War and I must say its pretty good… but its strives to be a cool movie… and that it is ……. but it just isn’t cool enough. One down two to go… 6/10 for me…
