Cousin's Wedding and the art of dancing in a saree

The 'bomohs' (Witch doctors) really did their work driving the rain clouds away on the 31st of August.... so that the 50th Independence Day Celebrations was rain free. It so happens that my cousin's wedding was on the same day... it was nothing but blue skies that morning.... as the sun burnt my already dark skin....

Anyway it was a nice pleasant wedding in vibrant colours ....of cos... i didnt take many pictures cos i did not want to get in the way of the event photographer they hired for the day... ... i know how he feels when he is blocked by relatives trying to take a shot :)

The Dinner was held at a hall atthe Botanical GArdens in Taman Botanic Klang (hmmm is that the correct name) anyway the garden beautifull... it was well lanscaped and really very pretty...
I have always wondered how women/girls can dance without a care while wearing a saree.... They are either very confident or really sure about their saree tying skills...... it will remain in my list of one of the mystries of the world.

lol I wore a saree ONCE in my life and I kept tripping over it. This was a futile attempt to impress the future MIL too.

Well there are a few safety pins hidden at strategic areas. The more paranoid you are, the more safety pins you use. Usually 2-3 pins should be sufficient.

Not only is dancing in a saree difficult, but tying a saree is an art form on it's own! I've attempted this many times but it has always turned out disastrous. I know exactly how to do it. Step by step. But it never works. Then I'll have to make an emergency phone call to someone's mother at the last minute!
